The Client

Sage & Frank

Sage & Frank was the boutique creative studio I founded, serving online educators and mission-driven entrepreneurs through brand, website, and digital campaign projects. As demand grew and project scopes expanded, the studio needed stronger operational structure to keep quality high and delivery predictable while managing multiple clients simultaneously.

Team

  • Remote contractor team including design, copywriting, development, social, strategy, DE&I advisor, and support roles.

Industry

  • Creative Agency

  • Digital Services

My Role

As owner and Art Director, I led both the creative direction and the operational structure of the studio. This included designing workflows, building reusable brand systems, coordinating cross-functional collaborators, and ensuring every project moved from concept to delivery with clarity and consistency.

Creative Operations Lead

Oversaw the studio’s operational foundation, ensuring clear workflows and dependable delivery across all projects.

Art Director

Directed brand and campaign execution, guiding design, copy, and development partners to produce cohesive, strategy-aligned work.

Workflow Architect

Built repeatable project workflows and review rhythms that reduced manual effort and improved turnaround time.

Systems & Template Builder

Developed brand systems, launch kits, website and campaign templates, and client-facing asset libraries for long-term reuse.

Project Coordinator

Managed timelines, contractor handoffs, and multi-phase production to keep projects on track without last-minute bottlenecks.

Quality Steward

Established production standards and checkpoints that reduced revision cycles and strengthened brand consistency.

The Project

The Operational Problem

As the studio scaled, each new client required rebuilding workflows from scratch. Without standardized processes, production became dependent on individual working styles and memory, increasing the risk of missed steps, inconsistent deliverables, and extended revision cycles.

  • No unified workflow across brand, website, or campaign projects

  • Manual coordination that slowed production and repeated work

  • Reactive timelines that shifted frequently

  • No shared asset structure for internal or client handoff

  • Too many revision rounds caused by unclear review checkpoints

Goals + Success Criteria

The goal was to build a systemized, repeatable studio operation. Success meant moving from “reinventing the process every time” to a clear, documented structure the studio could rely on.

The Work

Solution

I rebuilt Sage & Frank’s operational foundation by designing workflows, systems, and templates that made creative delivery predictable and scalable.

Instead of customizing processes for each project, I created a reusable framework that supported consistent execution and reduced unnecessary manual effort.

Workflow Systems

I designed a structured workflow that moved each project through distinct phases — discovery, concepting, design, development, refinement, and delivery — with clear expectations at each step.

These workflows reduced the team's day-to-day operational load and became the backbone of the studio’s ability to take on more complex projects with greater consistency and less manual coordination.

  • predictable pacing and better momentum across multi-disciplinary work

  • standardized three-round review cycle that reduced revisions

  • clearer checkpoints that aligned contractors on expectations

  • documented instructions that removed ambiguity and protected timelines

Brand & Launch Systems

To support clients through campaigns and ongoing content needs, I created reusable systems that allowed them to stay consistent long after handoff. These systems enabled clients to run future launches without rebuilding everything from scratch.

  • brand systems and guidelines

  • launch kits, social kits, and content libraries

  • website, sales page, and event page templates
reusable frameworks for campaign execution and launch sequencing

  • a client portal (“The Squad”) with brand-use guidance, platform how-tos, and team training resources

Templates & Asset Structures

  • organized Google Drive libraries for internal use

  • standardized naming conventions and folder structures

  • template libraries for repeatable design components

  • client-ready libraries that made handoff simple and intuitive

Tools Used

ActiveCampaign, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Wordpress, Google Drive libraries, Trello (for workflow tracking when needed), Zapier, Internal and client-facing asset libraries

Metrics & Optimization

After implementing these systems, production became smoother and more predictable. I monitored bottlenecks and refined the workflow after each project, improving speed and consistency over time.

Results

Predictable studio workflow

Standardized 3-round review cycle

Reduced revisions and rework

Clear contractor handoffs

Reusable brand and launch systems

More consistent client deliverables

  • 70% fewer client revisions due to standardized checkpoints

  • Improved turnaround time across brand, website, and campaign projects

  • 2x increased output capacity through streamlined workflows

  • Consistent delivery across multiple six-figure launches

  • Predictable launch execution without last-minute bottlenecks

  • Systems adopted across all client engagements for long-term reuse

“Everything changed after working with Brittany. She saw exactly what my business needed and built systems that made everything flow. My brand finally felt like me, my content had purpose, and clients started finding me with ease. I went from overwhelmed and unsure to confident and booked — and it all became so much simpler to manage.

Summary

By building repeatable workflows, reusable brand systems, and clearer production standards, I turned Sage & Frank into a studio that could deliver high-quality creative work with far more consistency and ease.

The operational foundation I created made launches more predictable, reduced manual work, and strengthened the overall client and contractor experience — allowing the studio to scale smoothly while maintaining the quality clients came to us for.

See how it works with real teams.

If you want to understand how these systems come together — and the impact they have — the case studies below walk through the process, decisions, and results in detail.
